Bloomfield NJ SEPAC

Special Education Parent Advisory Council

BLOOMFIELD NJ SEPAC is an independent, volunteer-run group of parents supporting one another as we navigate special education in the Bloomfield, NJ School District. Our mission is to ensure families are informed, supported, and empowered as they advocate for their children.

We provide resources, share experiences, and collaborate with the Bloomfield Special Services Department and Board of Education to help every child receive the best possible education. Every New Jersey school district has a SEPAC, as mandated by the state, to give parents a voice in special education and a forum to work with their schools.

At our meetings, parents can learn practical skills and knowledge, such as how to read and understand an IEP, the steps to take when questions or concerns arise, strategies to address bullying, knowing your legal rights, and preparing for transitions in your child’s education.
